About Us
Glenfinnan Community Facilities SCIO* is a charity established in June 2018.
The organisation’s main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The organisation’s
purposes as set out in its constitution are:
- To manage the SCIO for the benefit of all residents of the community, including use of premises for meetings, events, lectures and classes, and for any other forms of education, training, recreation and leisure time activity, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the community.
- To organise and promote any other community-based activity which the members shall consider improving the conditions of life for the community and /or promote community participation.
- To advance citizenship or community development including rural regeneration and the protection and improvement of the environment within the community.
- Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.

There is one person employed by GCF SCIO.
GCF SCIO is a Real Living Wage employer. All employees are paid at least the real living wage and are given appropriate channels for effective workers voice as defined in the fair work first guidance published by the Scottish Government.
To comply with OSCR and HMRC rules regarding charitable organizations income from trading, on 9 Sep 2021, the GCF SCIO registered a wholly owned trading subsidiary, Glenfinnan Enterprises Ltd (GE Ltd), to encapsulate all GCF SCIO trading activity.
GCF SCIO is the sole shareholder of GE Ltd and once per year receives 100% of the net profit from trading after payment of corporation tax, VAT and operating costs (including wages etc.) as a gift aid transfer from GE Ltd to GCF SCIO.
